Youth and the promotion of shooting sports among members of the next generation are priorities at Capital City Gun Club. With programs in spring, summer and fall, we are working to pass on the safe, fun and exciting sport of trap shooting to area kids. Through our established summer program and the recent expansion of the North Dakota State High School Clay Target League among the six area high schools, Capital City Gun Club hosts hundreds of youth shooting hours each year.
Capital City Gun Club Summer Youth Program
The Capital City Gun Club Summer Youth Program begins on June 3 at 6:00 p.m. The schedule for the youth program will be determined during the first session. There are several experienced volunteer coaches on hand to work with the young shooters and help them develop good fundamental shotgunning skills. The club supplies all targets and ammunition and has loaner shotguns available for those new shooters who may not have one. for more information contact Jim Gebhardt 701-351-4686. or email firstname.lastname@example.org
In order to participate in the youth program, a hunter safety course certificate is required and the parents of each participant must sign a liability waiver before he or she begins the youth program. Waiver forms are available from the cashier at Capital City Gun Club or can be downloaded by CLICKING HERE.
Participants in the youth program must be Capital City Gun Club members($40/ per family) and there is a $20 fee per shooter to cover the cost of ammunition and targets. The youth program culminates in participation in the youth event at the North Dakota State Shoot by the top 15 shooters in the summer program. The youth who will participate in the State Shoot are determined by shoot off. Capital City Gun Club provides ammunition and pays the participation fees for qualifying participants at the State Shoot; the shooters pay for an ATA membership of $9. Parents and participants are required to line up and pay for necessary transportation for the program and to the State Shoot, upon qualification.
