2024 Shooting Season

It’s that time of the year again. The sun is shining and the clay targets are flying again.

CCGC will be open for practice starting Tuesday, April 16 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm until dark. Commencing April 30, we will be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:00pm until dark.

CCGC is hosting two clinic sessions by Richard Marshall, Jr. The first session is on Wednesday May 8th & Thursday May 9th. The second session is Friday May 10th and Saturday May 11th. There are spots still available for the first session on May 8th & 9th, however the second session is currently filled. The clinic is limited to 10 participants per session. Ricky is a member of the ATA Trapshooting Hall of Fame, the Nebraska Trapshooting Hall of Fame, is a 33 Time All American, set a Grand American record by running 700 straight, and has many other accomplishments in his career.  He know co-hosts the podcast Trap Talk From The Back Fence.  During a 2-day clinic he will cover all three disciplines of shooting: Singles, Handicap, and Doubles. During the training he will work with you on gun fit, eye dominance, gun pattern, trapshooting basics, fundamentals of shooting, where to look, hold, & foot position as well as the mental aspect of the game.  Cost for the clinic is $450.  If interested, please contact Bill Woodworth at william@woodworthlawoffice.com.

League shooting will begin on May 7 and run through August 15, consisting of 14 rounds. Each team may have up to 7 shooters (8 if one of them 18 or younger). The first 3 scores are due by May 23rd. If you want more information about the league, visit our website at https://capitalcitygunclub.wordpress.com/league/.

This year we will also have a doubles league where individuals will be competing instead of teams. The doubles league also starts May 7 and runs for 7 weeks. The first 3 scores are due May 23rd. More information will be posted on our site regarding the doubles league.

Finally, you should save the dates for CCGC’s ATA registered shoots. The Memorial Shoot will be June 1 & 2, the North Dakota State Shoot runs from July 17 (Youth Day) to July 21, and the Sharptail Shoot will be held August 17 & 18. The programs for our shoots are available at https://capitalcitygunclub.wordpress.com/ata-shoots/ and the NDTA shoot calendar is available at https://ndtrap.com/2024-shoot-schedule.

Hope to see everyone on the shooting line soon!
